Process studies

The calculator answers questions that are already well posed. Some are not — and those are the ones worth working through properly.

Updated

The model described on this site was built to answer real questions about real plants. Where a study needs more than a calculation — judgement about what to model, what the plant data actually says, which comparison is fair — we take that on directly.

What that typically looks like

Technology comparison
Crystallization against adsorption for a specific feed composition and a specific set of utility and product prices — rather than in general, where the answer is always "it depends".
Debottlenecking assessment
Finding what actually limits an existing complex, and what a given change is worth once the recycle multiplier has been applied to it.
Yield reconciliation
Working backwards from measured stream compositions to the reaction yields that explain them — then using those yields to predict what a change would do.
Economic evaluation
The full cost and revenue consequence of a design or operating change, including the by-product credits and utility effects that a headline calculation misses.
Model development
Extending the model to a configuration it does not yet cover, or validating it against your own plant data.

How we work

  • The model is the deliverable, not just the report. You get the cases, so the analysis can be rerun when an assumption changes.
  • Assumptions are stated, not buried. Every number that was chosen rather than calculated is listed.
  • Verification is shown. Where the model is checked against plant data or against a reference, the comparison is in the report.
  • Confidentiality is assumed. Plant data stays yours.

Describe what you are trying to work out and we will tell you plainly whether we can help.
